FAQ's
Q. How many picks are there in an average day?
A. There are generally 1 or 2 alerts, but occasionally there will not be a single stock that meets the Crush service criteria and we would never fabricate new Stock Picks just to create excitement! In the past, when several sessions have gone by without a single new potential trade appearing on the radar screen, it has meant, "Investor/Trader Beware!" In a bear market, you will see fewer picks but you will see the moves develop more quickly than in a bull market.
Q. If you are recommending, say, on the average 1-2 Crush Service Picks each trading day, does that mean that I have to buy 20-40 stocks over a 20-day trading period in order to fully utilize your system and be profitable?
A. No. The Crush Service recommends, for the highest probability, to trade "confirmed" Crush Service Picks. The Crush Service's portfolio averages 10-15 "confirmed" stocks per month, but these stocks could be held for 2-4 months depending on whether they could be considered core positions. too many stocks in any one industry or related industries. The number of stocks in your portfolio may vary over time, but it is imperative for proper diversification.
Q. When should I expect the Crush Service e-mail?
A. Usually, it will be sent out before 10 PM EST the night before. There will be occasions where you might receive it the morning before the market opens (especially if the market conditions dictate a cautionary stance). There will also be times where you may receive an e-mail during market hours.
Q. Is it advisable to begin trading the Crush Picks in a severely declining (or bear) market?
A. The Crush Service recommends using challenging environments to learn how to utilize the Crush This Market Trades system and all of its features to their fullest potential. We would recommend reading the Evening Crush Service Email while paper trading, as the education regarding the stock market and trading stocks you receive may very well be worth the cost of the subscription alone! Every scenario in the market presents opportunities and we will be making recommendations in every type of environment.
Q. If I am going out of town for a couple of days, or even weeks, should I sell all of my positions before I leave? I probably won't have access to a computer.
A. Most subscribers simply leave their stop loss orders in place, while others check the prices of their stocks daily (either via internet or by the newspaper).
Q. Does the Crush Service recommend using options or margin?
A. While many subscribers use both with good success, they each involve great risk. Only experienced investors should consider the use of margin or options. Always seek the advice of an investment advisor to determine whether either it is appropriate for your specific investment profile.
Q. Does the Crush Service specifically recommend an online trading company?
A. The Crush Service urges subscribers to use their own discretion with this decision. However, our favorites are online trading companies: Think or Swim, OptionsXpress, and TDAmeritrade.
Q How do you "short" a stock?
A. Since each brokerage has different guidelines, it is best to request the guidelines from the brokerage where you will be placing your transactions. Those subscribers who are uncomfortable with "shorting" stocks, simply buy puts instead. However, be advised that trading options involves great risk. Please consult an investment advisor before you attempt to trade options. Another alternative to shorting individual stocks is to buy an ETF (Exchange Traded Fund) that goes up as that sector or index goes down.
Q. What size investment account is needed in order to use the Crush This Market Service system effectively?
A. The proper size of your investment account is the size that will properly diversify your tolerance for risk.
Q. What percentage of my assets should I invest in a Crush Service Pick?
A. There is no specific amount that we recommend, however, we do advise that no subscriber EVER invests more than 10%-15% of his/her trading account in any ONE Stock Pick! We do have a system for determining how much to put into a Crush Pick. The general guideline is that if we are in bear market then would tend to put more than average into a shorting position. One the other hand if you are considering a long position in a bear market you would put less into that trade. Please see our guide to trading tab on the home page for more details.
Q. How much of my net worth should be in my trading account?
A. That depends on how advanced you are as a trader. A beginning trader should paper trade and then start with a minimal amount. If you don’t consider yourself an expert or master trader, then you should limit your trading account to no more than 20% of your net worth. It is better to start with a small account because it teaches you to play great defense. No matter how good you become in this business, if you can’t control your losing trades you will eventually bust out. If you bust out, you don’t want to lose your lifestyle or hurt those you love. Ideally, you want to give yourself a “comeback option.” When you become more proficient as a trader you will be able to make a substantial amount of money in the market. It takes time so be patient. You will be glad you stuck with it.
